A Brand New Wedding Venue in South Dakota – Shanty Haven

When I first saw an advertisement for this brand new South Dakota wedding venue, I jumped at the chance to get a tour of it! It’s called Shanty Haven, and it is a brand new wedding and event venue in Redfield, South Dakota. Shanty Haven is nestled on the outskirts of town, just across the street from a field of prairie grass.

Shanty Haven, a brand new wedding venue, is gorgeously decorated and designed. It’s modern farmhouse feel is complementary to the latest trends. Look for the cute touches of galvanized metal, vintage furniture and farmhouse decor. Each piece has been curated and hand-selected to flow flawlessly from one wall to the next. In fact, the owner, Marti has built the majority of the venue herself. Isn’t that incredible!?

When you first walk inside Shanty Haven, you forget you’re in the middle of South Dakota! Shanty Haven seats 400+ guests, has a full kitchen, a bar area, an incredible loft to maximize seating, and is handicap accessible. There are also camper hookups across the street!

 

Shanty Haven will make hosting your events (wedding, baby shower, wedding shower, or any sort of event!) so simple. They provide an incredibly curated and designed venue, and you get to choose your own caterer to come in. This means you can have your pick of caterers, or do it all yourself! Marti, the owner, can provide you with recommendations for these as well.

This bar area opens up to both sides. Those panels and the giant garage door open up into the Big Shanty.

Yes, that’s right. You’ve only seen half of the venue so far!! What you’ve seen so far is called “The Little Shanty”. Perfect for smaller, more intimate receptions and events. The Big Shanty seats 400+ and has a loft area. When you rent The Big Shanty, you also get the Little Shanty and the kitchen area. You can also open up the garage door to help traffic flow from one area to the other.

Would you just look at that gorgeous loft area? Safe to say I’m obsessed! There’s plenty of seating on the ground level, which is also handicap accessible, and lots of seating available in the loft as well!

In this next image, you’ll see the bar area that’s accessible from both the Little Shanty and the Big Shanty! It’s off to the left. That’s also the garage door that opens up into the Little Shanty!

A Full Kitchen

There is a full kitchen for your caterer to prepare meals, with plenty of counter and prep space as well! If you’re hosting your own event, such as a wedding shower or an event, you are also able to use this kitchen to prep snacks and treats! What a perfect place to do so!
