“Baby, I’m dancing in the dark with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight.”
Ahhh the sweet sounds of Ed Sheeran’s voice singing Kassidy and Trevor’s first dance. A moment I was almost afraid wouldn’t happen because of the April blizzard. If you recall, April 14 was the day a huge blizzard passed through SD and literally shut down our state. The interstates were closed. There were towns that the police were advising “no travel” because the road conditions were much too dangerous. Officers were even pulling people over and asking them to just go home; the roads aren’t safe. And they weren’t. Cars lined the ditches on either sides of the roads.
But this extreme circumstance didn’t stop Kassidy and Trevor’s wedding from being one of the most absolutely breathtaking weddings I have ever experienced. Their love for one another completely outshined any weather issue, any travel ban, or any two feet of snow. It might have been cold, snowy, and windy outside (with 50 mph winds!) but their love truly lit up the room and warmed all of our hearts. There were many things they could have focused on related to the weather, but all they truly cared about was marrying their best friend… a love that will last a lifetime.
There were several times that I had to dab at my tearful eyes throughout their wedding day: All of the emotional moments with Trevor’s beautiful tribute to his late mother, Kassidy’s first look with her mom and dad, her mothers proud smile as she helped Kassidy into her dress. Gosh, just trust me, their whole day was incredible. I hope you enjoy seeing all of the gorgeous details throughout their snowy and beautiful wedding day.
