“I feel like the luckiest man alive,” he said. “And I’ll feel that way for the rest of my life.”
Anyone there that night could tell he meant what he said. The look on his face when he first saw her coming down the aisle. His grin each time she looked at him. The happiness he exuded as they had their first dance as husband and wife. Finally. After dating for years, it was official. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron and Jessica Lux.
Oh, friends. This was one of the happiest weddings that I’ve attended so far. Every moment seemed like a fairytale. Despite the toasty weather (96 degrees in May is unusual for us in South Dakota!), everyone had smiles on their faces all day. And it wasn’t just Jessica and Cameron. Their families and friends each had their own joyful experience that day. Brittney, Jessica’s best friend of twelve years, told us in her Maid of Honor speech, that she had also been waiting for this wedding day for years. Ever since Jessica saw Cameron at a rival football game in high school, Jessica and Brittney knew that one day Jess and Cameron would be married.
Cameron’s Mom also had a fun surprise at the wedding. When it came time for the traditional mother/son dance, an 80’s power ballad started playing through the DJ’s sound system. Cameron and his mom started dancing to Honestly by Stryper, and she just smiled and laughed that whole time. After their dance was over, she said, “That was OUR wedding song!” referring to her own first dance at her wedding! What an amazing tribute to his parents and a celebration of their marriage.
Enjoy all of the fun and smiles from Jessica and Cameron’s wedding day! They are truly such a fun couple to get to know and I am so thankful that we got to be the ones lucky enough to document their amazing love story.
