📣 📣 Wedding photographers!!📣 📣
Hi, how the heck are you?
My apologies for yelling in your ear with those megaphones up there.
It’s just that I wanted to get your attention, and other than emojis, I don’t have a lot of options for doing that through this screen.
Ok.
Wedding photographers. You have a ‘slow season,’ right? I’m asking, but I already know the answer.
There’s a real pain in the bootie around here called WINTER. Very few couples are tying the knot when it’s -30 Fahrenheit. (Can’t say that I blame them 😉!)
1- Hibernate with your dogs and binge-watch episodes of The Office? (Good)
2 – Do what all the other photographers are doing. Update your workflows and client processes, organize your schedule for the busy season, etc. (Better)
3- Branch into boudoir photography, so you’re ready to offer this service as an add-on for your 2022-2023 brides and increase each wedding package you shoot by $1500+.(Ding! Ding! Ding! —Best answer!!)
But, I know what you’re thinking:
“Oh my gosh, I could never switch to boudoir!! Weddings are my bread and butter. I cannot imagine making that pivot. Where would I even start?”
Sis, pump those brakes!!
I’m not asking you to burn down your entire house and build a new one. I’m not saying you should toss your wedding photography business into that fire.
I’m just asking you to see how it would feel to ADD boudoir to your existing services as a wedding photographer.
How would it feel to gain some experience in this area, become confident shooting boudoir, and then offer it as an add-on to your existing wedding packages? How would it feel to pamper your brides even more and watch their confidence soar when they realize how beautiful they are?
How would it feel to have a side gig you can offer in the slow-season months to your existing clients when the weather is not your friend, and you need to shoot indoors?
Adding boudoir is not a house fire.
It’s more like….inviting your clients to a really fun bonfire party in your backyard (with mango margs, obv.) 🍹
Think about it. What do you have to lose by adding boudoir to your resume as a wedding photographer?
