Mikaela and Shane got married November 10, 2018 and to be honest, I am surprised that there wasn’t MORE snow! In South Dakota, you just never know what the weather will be like. And if you remember back to their engagement session, Shane and Mikaela are used to posing for the camera in the cold! They look like naturals! I will be totally honest.. yes, it was cold but I am LIVING for these winter wedding pictures. Their portraits are so bright and airy!
To be honest I haven’t photographed much in Wagner…I don’t even think I’ve been there much. However, after seeing their cute little lake and park I definitely want to shoot here again! Wagner Lake was the first thing we saw when pulling in to town that morning, and I KNEW it had to be the place for Mikaela and Shane’s first look! It ended up being where we did their sunset portraits too. I’m just obsessed with it. It’s so darling. Check out their gorgeous snowy wedding portraits and see for yourself!
I don’t think we ever stopped smiling photographing their wedding day. From her first look with her dad, to all the jokes Shane is constantly cracking… we just had a blast during their wedding day. And bonus points go to their wedding party for braving the cold too! All of the wedding party photos were taken outside, and in a sleeveless bridesmaid dress… that is not an easy task!
Their ceremony was at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wagner, and we drove over to Dante (pronounced DAN-tee) for their reception. If you can’t tell, I definitely sounded like a newbie trying to pronounce Dante all day! They had the Dante Dance Hall fully decorated from floor to ceiling. Gorgeous twinkle lights filled the room and just made the glittery decor and table runners sparkle even more. (You guys, just look at the detail pictures of their decor. It’s so stinking cute!!)
Mikaela and Shane’s wedding day all lead up to the dance, and with entertainment like SieffStyle you definitely can’t go wrong. My second photographer and I left wishing we could stay and dance too! 🙂
In conclusion, Shane and Mikaela, this was one wedding I will definitely not forget! I hope you enjoy these previews from your day!
