Wondering what to wear to your boudoir session? You aren’t alone!
One of the most frequently asked questions that I get from my clients is what they should wear to their boudoir sessions. I mean, I get it. It’s not every day that you get to go shopping for outfits like this, so most of the time, we have no idea where to start!
When deciding what to wear to your boudoir session, it’s important to read about the sizing and how things fit before you buy them. When things fit too snug, they’ll dig into your skin and create the dreaded muffin top. Especially when bras are too tight, we start to see boobs start spilling over into the underarm area. So reading the sizing details is an absolute must!
Additionally, you should be comfortable in what you wear. You should absolutely love the way you look in your outfit. You should try it on at least once or twice before your session and not want to take it off, you love it so much. I know it sounds like a lot but I’m not kidding! There’s nothing worse than getting to your session and feeling weird in what you’re wearing.
My favorite colors that I believe look good on everyone are white, gray, black, light pink, blush pink, and light blue. These colors complement every skin tone and work well with my soft, feminine style of boudoir. I recommend staying away from bright, bold colors as they can distract from our subject — you!
We all have things that we’re self conscious about. If you know that you’ll be self conscious about your tummy, wear something that covers it up, instead of wearing just a bra and undies. If you don’t like your arms, I recommend trying something with sleeves or wearing a kimono.
Nothing is off limits when it comes to your outfit. You can wear whatever makes you comfortable. A bodysuit, a t-shirt, your favorite lingerie, your favorite sweater… the list goes on and on. Here are a few of my favorite finds on Amazon (because who doesn’t love 2 day shipping?!)
Here are some of my favorite bodysuits and teddies, etc!
These are different from the bodysuits pictured above, because they’re actually shapewear! If you’re needing a little more security and want something to soft of hold you in, shapewear is definitely the way to go. Here are some really adorable shapewear bodysuits! Just click to shop!
Here are a few of my favorite kimonos to wear to your session! You can add a kimono for a lot of reasons! One of my favorites is that it’s kind of like an outfit change without the work. Just slip on a kimono and BAM – new outfit! The lace details also add a degree of softness and femininity to your session, which we all I know that I love. A lot of my clients also like them because it can help keep things more conservative if you’re worried you’re showing off too much. Whatever your reason is, I just think they’re pretty, so here’s a few of my faves.
