When Courtney reached out to book her boudoir session, she didn’t live right around the corner. She had to road trip for her session! In fact, she drove several hours to make it happen. And when I say it was worth every mile, I mean it. From the moment she stepped into the studio, there was this quiet excitement in the air. The kind that says today’s about me.
After a morning of professional hair and makeup in the studio, Courtney slipped into a vibrant fuchsia lace bodysuit that instantly lit up the room. The soft light streaming through the curtains wrapped around her in the warmest glow! I love when I get to watch this transformation come to life every week. It makes me want to pinch myself that this is my job!! Every detail came together to create imagery that felt feminine, powerful, and timeless.
Later, she changed into a deep navy piece that brought a whole new mood to the shoot. It was elegant, while remaining a little mysterious. A GREAT vibe for her pictures!! Against the hardwood floors and neutral backdrop, the rich color just absolutely popped beautifully. She moved between the mirror, the window light, and the chair, while I prompted her each step of the way. Each pose showing a different side of confidence. And to finish, she draped herself in crisp white sheets (a client fav!!), giving the entire gallery that soft, feminine touch that feels like pure art.
From the professional styling, to the guidance through every pose, to the empowering experience itself, she left feeling radiant and seen. She told me she’d recommend the experience to anyone.
That’s exactly what I hope each woman walks away feeling: that the drive, the preparation, and the nerves were all absolutely worth it.
If you’re thinking about traveling to Sioux Falls for your own boudoir session, know that you’re in good company. So many of my clients do! This is your chance to turn your session into a mini getaway, or a “me-day”. Treat yourself to a cozy stay downtown (try Hotel on Phillips or the Holiday Inn City Centre) and grab a bite at one of my favorite local spots like Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen or Parker’s Bistro. Spend the evening unwinding, reflecting, and celebrating the version of you who decided to do this for yourself.
Because that’s the thing about a boudoir experience. It’s never just photos. It’s a life-changing, confidence-boosting, self-celebrating experience. One that you’ll never regret making the road trip for.

Boudoir photography celebrates all the ways your crazy beautiful body has held you up, moved you forward, and turned you into a woman who can get. it. done. Sis, that is something that should make you proud.
I’m Emma, a Sioux Falls Boudoir Photographer. This is experience is more than photos, this is art you’ll carry for a lifetime. I bring the same compassion I once carried as a nurse into every session, so you leave not just with portraits—but with proof of the woman you’ve always been.
