When Tawni came into the studio for her moody maternity session, I knew we’d struck gold before we even started. The light was perfect & the outfits were perfect to show off her belly and baby-to-be! Maternity sessions can be a really delicate time for someone pregnant. Your hormones are all over the place, some women are uncomfortable & it can be hard to want to even get all done up for photos.
This is for you. It’s to remember the time you did one of the hardest and most worthwile things you can do and you came out of it a mom! I wanted to document this moment in time for her, so she can remember exactly how beautiful of a mama she is. We’ve always thought this is great for mamas, check out our dedicated post to it here.
Finding lingerie for your session might feel intimidating, but it’s totally not! You just want the chance to show off that belly while also wearing something that makes you feel comfortable and excited. We chose a beautiful mesh bodysuit that made her body jewelry absolutely sparkle ✨. Then she put on a classic bra + panty set in a beautiful purple color for the moody feel. Then we ended with a cover-up and white sheet for a real bare feel.
If you’re in the market for some sexy lingerie at home, here’s some pieces made specifically for pregnancy you may love.
When I asked Tawni how she felt about her session, she sent over this touching review.
“Working with Emma was amazing! From the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you’ve known her for years. She gives you endless positivity and energy throughout your shoot and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera and in your own skin. I never saw myself doing something like this, but I am so glad I did to capture my baby bump and the amazing things my body is capable of. I will never be able to thank Emma enough!”
