A kiss on the cheek. His hands gently brushing through your hair. That stomach-dropping feeling when his hand finally holds yours.
Long distance relationships are hard. You just want to curl up on the couch and watch The Office with your best friend, and even though Facetime can sometimes help, it just not always the same. That’s something that my husband and I went through for four years of dating, and I truly think your heart grows fonder for each other. You definitely cherish the times together more. Which is exactly what makes Megan and Martez’s engagement session so special for me.
Like they finally get to be with their best friend again. From the sincerity in Martez’s smile to the giggle Megan gets when she looks at her fiancé. Megan and Martez have a relationship built on years of loyalty and trust, and I cannot wait to see what their future holds for them.
Megan and Martez’s engagement session began in downtown Mitchell, South Dakota, which is one of my favorite places there. Their buildings have so much character and texture, and they always have pretty flowers decorating the exteriors of their storefronts! Next, we headed off to Lake Mitchell, where Megan had on a gorgeous flowy, red dress that contrasted perfectly with Martez’s Marine Corps camouflage uniform. Even though I coach all of my couples through posing, I felt like I barely had to with these two: The chemistry was super strong here! I’m so excited that I get to be the one to document their love story, and their wedding coming up next year! 🙂
Martez: “Her eyes, her smile, her weird look she gives me when I do stupid things, her work ethic, willingness to sacrifice, her commitment, dedication and loyalty.”
Megan: “His sense of humor, his kindness, his personality, how much he cares for his friends and family. He is always willing to go above and beyond for the people he cares about most. I love how he can make me laugh even when I’m mad or upset. “
Megan and Martez: “Lounging around the house watching movies or TV shows on Hulu or Netflix and eating any and all junk foods!”
