A babbling brook. A flooded quarry. Thick forests. Rolling hills. A giant white tent.
Later they would celebrate the best day of their lives in that tent. There would be an epic Eminem rap by her maid of honor. A gold star, a Nerf gun, and a tomato. A Vikings SKOL chant. A twenty second kiss. An excited atmosphere full of their friends and family on the dance floor.
But right now, it was all about this moment.
He was waiting for her on the walking trail. His back toward her. As she moved closer to him she looked like a goddess in her ivory dress, complete with greenery in her brunette hair.
This was the moment they had been waiting for.
She placed her hand on his left shoulder. He turned to see her. His bride. Finally, the day had come.
Kendra and Brady wrapped each other in a warm embrace. Soon they would be husband and wife.
One of our favorite things that Kendra and Brady did on their wedding day was use their time at the First Look to exchange reasons why they love each other. They had written these in special keepsake notebooks that they’ll be sure to cherish forever! The words that were exchanged between them were absolutely beautiful, and we loved how they promised so many things for their future together. A true beginning to this legacy they would start together as a married couple.
Speaking of legacies, there were many great examples of legacies at Kendra and Brady’s wedding. Their parents shared advice with the new Mr. and Mrs. as they begin life together. Their grandparents passed down their blessings from their longly successful marriages. Kendra and Brady even lit their own unity candle from candle tributes to their parents’ weddings. It was evident Kendra and Brady felt it was so important to recognize these amazing examples of strong marriages that they have grown up around, and want to continue to honor throughout their marriage.
If you haven’t been to Granite Springs, please put this location on your to-do list! Just across a footbridge sits this beautiful flooded quarry. AKA the perfect place for sunset portraits right by the water! Thankfully the bride and groom were totally up for this. When a guest asked us if we’d like a canoe for them, well, we couldn’t say no! The crystal clear water was calm while the newlyweds took a sunset canoe ride. And thank goodness they did – they made for some of the most stunning husband and wife portraits that this photographer has ever seen!
But things were just getting started. Back at the tent, guests were getting the dance floor all warmed up for Kendra and Brady, and let me tell you – these guests could DANCE! Everyone was having so much fun, it wasn’t hard to just keep snapping our cameras!
Kendra and Brady, thank you for choosing Jon and I to be your wedding photographers! What an absolutely beautiful wedding day. One we will, truly, never forget.
XO,
Emma
