The Weather

Would you believe me if I told you I took these pictures on the same day that I did that snowy engagement session? Yep! It’s true! What a difference driving across the state makes! Friday definitely was an interesting day for me, weather-wise! I started my day out in the snow in Spearfish Canyon for Aggie and Matt’s engagement session. The session ended in sunny Dell Rapids, South Dakota for Abby and Lane’s engagement session! (To see Aggie and Matt’s engagement session click here!)

Dell Rapids

I had been driving about all day long at this point, so I was beyond ready to see what the town of Dell Rapids had in store for me. And let me tell you – it did not disappoint! First Abby and Lane took me to a gorgeous dam area with some of the most beautiful yellow and green trees. Leaves are starting to change in our area! 🙂 The light was so perfect we stayed at the dam for a bit and soaked up the sun. They even brought their dog, Harper, along for a few pictures. You guys know I love it when people bring their dogs to their sessions! She may look familiar to you, and that’s because Kendra and Brady’s dog, Piper, is Harper’s sister! 🙂 Small world!

Abby and Lane

Abby and Lane were an amazing couple to photograph because they were both so excited to be there. I could tell Lane was picking up my technique when he said, “I bet I know why you wanted us to stand here.” And I asked him, “Why’s that?” And he said, “Because you found the glow!” Ahhh he’s so right! This session is full of glow! From the pictures in the park to the sparkling corn. That’s right, I said sparkling corn. 😂 At least that’s what I called it during their engagement session! They had to go stand in a certain area of the corn field because “the corn was sparkling!” I’m sure they thought I was crazy. One thing is for sure- I’m crazy about their engagement pictures! I had so much fun with Abby and Lane – so I know their wedding will be a blast, too! There wasn’t a single moment of silence during their whole session! Abby was so excited to see the pictures when I showed her the back of my camera. And I was super excited to show her! These two are the cutest together and I’m so thrilled to be sharing a little bit of their love story with you!
