I had this idea to do a bridal boudoir styled shoot, ever since I moved into a new studio space here in Sioux Falls, SD. I’ve been doing quite a bit of boudoir lately, and due to the private nature of boudoir, I’m not able to share a lot of my work with the world.
So first of all… why bridal boudoir? Lots of brides contact me looking for a special gift to give their fiancé as a wedding present! For bridal boudoir, we usually book the session at least 2-3 months in advance, so that you make sure and get your album and products back in time for your wedding.
The day starts out with hair and makeup at the studio. We pop some champagne and enjoy a mimosa while you get pampered. Then we head right over to the shooting part of the studio and go over outfit choices. You are welcome to bring along your own lingerie or borrow from my client closet of over 60+ pieces, ranging from sizes XS – 2X. Then we shoot together for about an hour and a half.
This isn’t your quiet, boring boring session, though, girl. We turn the music up loud, listen to your favorite empowering songs, and I encourage you the whole time. You should feel romantic, classy, beautiful, and confident when you walk out of the studio!
Now do you have to be a bride to do a boudoir session? Heck no! Everyone does boudoir for a different reason. And I think that’s my favorite part of boudoir. It’s different for everyone. But this session today was specifically for brides… so let’s get back to that.
So I thought to myself, wouldn’t a bridal boudoir styled shoot be an amazing way to showcase what my style of boudoir looks like? I’m so thrilled with everyone who collaborated to make this boudoir session everything I dreamed of. Everything came together even better than I had imagined.
From the floral installment on the bed, to the delicate floral hairpiece, to the hair and makeup, to the calligraphy, the gorgeous bouquet, and even a living tattoo! That’s right. If you see a floral attachment on the model’s wrist, that’s called a living tattoo and it’s every bit as amazing as you think it is. Every single piece of this styled shoot really came together, and each part of the team brought their best work!
The theme for this styled shoot was “the morning of the wedding”. So imagine, if you will, a bride getting ready in her bridal suite for her big day. Hair and makeup complete, she gets a note from her future husband that tells her all about his love and how he can’t wait to spend forever together.
The dreamy, muted greens and blushes really pulled together in this palette of colors, and worked amazingly with the models skin tones. I’m so, so, so excited to finally hit publish and share this with the world. Enjoy!
Thank goodness for these incredible vendors, without whom this styled session would not have been nearly as stunning:
Amazing Florals: Thistle and Dot Floral
Beautiful Hair and Makeup: Hannah Grace Salon Studio
Gorgeous Calligraphy Letter: Karly Kassay Calligraphy
Incredible Model: Michaela M.
