He started reciting the words to 1 Corinthians 13.
“Love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Many people have this scripture read at their wedding. It’s a very beautiful passage that helps set the scene for the commitment of marriage.
Their pastor stated, “Many people see these words as something that is yet to come. These two have already lived these words. They have already been through so much together, learned so much from each other, and grown so much as a couple.”
And it’s true. Their love for each other is evident any time you see them together. The way that their eyes light up when the other is around. The way that they laugh together when their son, Jace, is being silly. You know that their love endures all things because of the bond that they has grown for them during the last five years of their lives together.
And speaking of laughing, this day was full of it. Getting ready at the lake cabin on Lake Mitchell with Alyssa’s best girl friends was just the start of all the fun. Add in mimosas and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an amazing start to your wedding day.
Another personal favorite event is the party bus immediately following the ceremony; you’re MARRIED now! It’s so fun to just enjoy some time with your closest friends on a bus and have a beverage. But fun and drinks were not the only things enjoyed on this party bus. We pulled through Little Caesar’s and picked up some hot and ready pizzas. Pizzas, beer, friends… What more could a couple of newlyweds want?
You might also notice that Alyssa’s father-daughter dance was not your typical slow song. Sure, it might have started out that way. But their Michael Buble slow dance quickly turned into a montage of popular dancing songs, ranging from the classic “Can’t Touch This” to the newer hit “Wobble.” These two jammed out and performed for all the wedding guests, and the videos of it even went viral!
Alyssa and Sid’s wedding in Mitchell, South Dakota truly showcased their love and affection, and we all couldn’t be happier for them. Just look at the smile on their son, Jace’s face. I think that says it all.
