This October, the Grann family hosted my husband and I out at their farm near Carpenter, South Dakota. And while I love on-location sessions, this one held an extra special meaning for me. This is the farm where my great grandma was born and raised, and this is my own family that I got to take pictures of. Jeff Grann’s father was my great grandma’s brother! It’s pretty cool that I got to go back to where a part of our families began, and even cooler that Jeff and his wife, Crys, still live there! They even invited us inside the house following the session to see historical photos of my great grandma and the farm.
