Hello lovely! How are you? Valentine’s Day is coming up soon. (Like we need *another* reminder, though!)
In light of this holiday, I want to make sure you remember that:
You are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, so very loved, amazing in every way, and you deserve to feel that way always.
Don’t forget to show yourself some love and special attention this week, even if that’s just tossing a bath bomb into your shower and lighting your favorite candle before bed. You deserve nothing but the best and all the love in the world, Boo!
Right about now, you’re probably getting a ton of emails and social media messages filled with Valentine’s Day discounts, special offers, and sales.
So it might be tempting to offer a sale on your boudoir sessions too. The lingerie. The poses! I get how boudoir fits the holiday criteria.
I mean, after all, what is boudoir if not the ultimate gift of self-love and pampering?
Here’s the sitch:
On paper, a Valentine’s Day Boudoir promotion makes sense.
But don’t do it.
Do not do it.
Here’s why:
This is where most people get boudoir wrong. Nine times out of 10, it’s not a partner gifting a boudoir session to their significant other. It’s the woman gifting the session to herself, just because. This is her trip to Disney World, know what I mean? Sure, she definitely probably has her partner in mind and the souvenir photos they’ll get to enjoy after her session together. But she’s almost always doing this first and foremost for her.
☝That’s reason number one why promoting your boudoir services as a Valentine’s Day gift won’t work.
Here’s my next point (look at me, up on my cute little soapbox for a minute here):
Valentine’s Day is in February! The bummer about February is, no one has any money right now. We spent it all on the holidays and New Year. The gifters and givers (often women) went above and beyond for their people in December, and February isn’t when they have extra cash lying around to spend on themselves.
My best advice?
If you want to run a special on boudoir sessions, run a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale (that’s when your clients are shopping). Or, run a Christmas special. (If you’re going the gift route. Couples are gifting more during this time.)
You have plenty of time between now and Black Friday or Christmas 2022 to pull that together!!
If you need some help making it a success, you know I’m your girl.
Boudoir photography celebrates all the ways your crazy beautiful body has held you up, moved you forward, and turned you into a woman who can get. it. done. Sis, that is something that should make you proud.
