They say that the third time’s a charm. And honestly? I’m starting to believe more and more in that phrase.
You see, this was not the first time that Danielle and Dillon and I tried to get together for their engagement session. Thanks to the crazy South Dakota weather, we rescheduled the first time due to a snow storm. The second time due to heavy rains, and now came the third attempt at their session.
And you wouldn’t believe it, but guess what was forecasted for that afternoon? That’s right. More rain.
Thankfully, they were able to be flexible with timing and were complete rockstars in front of the camera. Everything went so smoothly and we were able to shoot their engagement session without a hitch, or a raindrop! We always kept an eye out for that dark gray cloud forming in the sky, though. š
To say that I’m obsessed with these photos would be an understatement. We had the opportunity to visit Danielle’s family farm near Highmore, South Dakota, and shoot their engagement session there. There were lots of wind turbines around, and views as far as the eyes could see. It was clear why Danielle wanted to do their session there! Luckily, we found a little tree strip that helped block some of the 20+ mph winds that were swirling around us. These cuties absolutely rocked their session, and we are so excited to serve them on their upcoming wedding day at Cedar Shore Resort!
Enjoy these previews from their engagement session!
