Do you ever just look at someone and know they’re in love? Maybe it’s the effortless smile, or the way they laugh, or how cozy they look snuggled up to each other? Those are just a few of the reasons I absolutely adore anniversary sessions. Your anniversary session is different from your engagement session. The love and connection that was first captured in your engagement session has only grown since then, and you get even more of those amazing looks from each other.

I was super lucky to capture those moments for Matt and Halle, who celebrated two years of marriage this June. Matt and Halle drove all the way up from Omaha, Nebraska for their anniversary session, and we had so much fun with them. We also adore their formal outfit choices, because when you look your best, you feel your best. And all of that confidence carries over into your time in front of the camera. Matt wore a formal top with dress pants and dress shoes, completing the outfit with a pop of a pale pink tie. Halle contrasted his lighter outfit with a deep navy dress, and the bottom was a chiffon material so it gave plenty of movement when she walked. The sparkles also added some texture and interest, especially during their closeup shots!

I want everyone to get dressed up just like this, in their Sunday best, just like you’re going to a Broadway show. Seeing you interact in your nicest clothes makes your pictures look even better, and isn’t that what we all want? Can I get an amen?
