Sooo…. gift-giving is KINDA my love language. I love to give, I love to receive, and I’d like to think of this list as kind of a gift to someone who needs help figuring out what to do for Christmas gifts. Whether it’s a gift for a random gift exchange at work, a gift for someone you love, or just a gift for yourself, these are some Sioux Falls Christmas gift ideas that I just feel like you can’t go wrong with! I’ve broken them up into categories, so you can find what fits your need best. Below, you’ll find my favorite gifts local to SD, my favorite experience-based gifts, stocking stuffers under $20, and just some honorable mentions. Those aren’t necessarily local to SD, but they’re some of my favorite items to gift!
Also, due to copyright, I can’t post pics of everything. Only the things on Amazon. But you can see photos when you click through to the websites. So instead, please enjoy some family photos that Jon and I recently had taken by my friend Maggie! Consider this blog post my Christmas card to you. 🙂
Mariums Bubble Truffles – specifically the lavender ones. My friend Maddie gave me some of these for Christmas last year and to say I’m obsessed would be putting it lightly. They smell amazing, they’re made from natural ingredients, and they’d make a great stocking stuffer.
Mountain Fox Faux Fur Throw Blanket from Harmony House – Y’all…. this BLANKET. It’s impossibly soft and the best part… it’s machine washable! Seriously I had to wash it the first day we had it because one of the dogs got sick 🙁 but it came out of the washer just as soft as it was when I first purchased it. It looks cute folded up or just thrown across your bed, like I do with mine. I have the larger size but the small size is perfect for a throw size. Handmade here in Sioux Falls!
Body Butter from Juniper Apothecary – Again a locally made product that I’m obsessed with! This body butter makes your skin so soft. My favorite trick is to use some after I’ve shaved my legs and they stay soft for DAYS. All of their scents are amazing but Magnolia is my fave.
Davy Boutique – This is a brand new boutique in Mitchell, SD! I’m obsessed with Anna’s style and curation of her entire boutique, so I’ll just tag the “gifts” tab for this. She has got a great style that would complement anyone’s wardrobe. Under her gifts tab, you’ll find all sorts of things from jewelry to the most darling ceramic mugs, to slippers, mittens and hats. And who doesn’t love a cute new winter hat going into the cold season here? Anna also ships things super fast! She always wows me. Definitely check this one out!
Earth Clay Necklace – Ok so she isn’t technically located in SD… she’s right across the border in MN, but I had to give this one a shoutout because of the artistry in these necklaces! These are hand-sculpted clay necklaces and they make the most incredible “wow” presentation. She has necklaces that range from National Park sculptures to bouquets of flowers. A must!
Poppy’s Popcorn – As far as I’m concerned this is a Sioux Falls holiday staple. I absolutely love popcorn, and Poppy’s makes such fun flavors! If you’re a traditional kind of person, my favorite is their mix of caramel, regular and cheddar. But if you’re looking to try something fun and new, I love their puppy chow mix and scotcharoo mix! I love gifts that people can eat because they don’t create clutter in anyone’s house; they’re just eaten right away!
Smartwool socks – these socks make me so cozy in the cold wintertime here! My absolute favorite socks.
Ugg slippers – feel like absolute HEAVEN. I’m all about keeping your feet warm during the winter! These are LUXURY.
Kate Spade bangle – so maybe you have a friend that you know would appreciate a Kate Spade gift but don’t want to drop major coin on a gift for them. This bangle is only $38!
Shower oil from Buff City – my friend Maggie got me hooked on this stuff! I use it every day in the shower and it’s so important to give your skin extra love during the cold, dry winter months. My favorite scent is Good Morning Sunshine, but they have lots of good smelling things! They also just opened up a shop in Sioux Falls, so if you’re interested in stopping in to smell, now you can.
Kendra Scott earrings – well if you know me, you know I wear these just about every day. Now you can grab a pair for someone you love.
BruMate – the best/cutest coozies! I bring my BruMate with me everywhere because it makes my White Claw taste that much better!
Barefoot Dreams blanket – the SOFTEST BLANKET!! It’s absolutely perfect. My husband loves ours so much that he snags mine! Grab it from Nordstrom Rack for a fraction of what they normally cost.
Buttoned Up With Lux – This handmade shop repurposes buttons from designer clothing into jewelry! So you can have a Chanel necklace without the Chanel pricetag. Super cool!
Maybelline Lifter Gloss – I’m OBSESSED with these. My favorite is the shade Topaz, which is just enough to give you a little color and shimmer.
Lush bath bombs – these bath bombs are an EXPERIENCE. They are not your average bath bomb! Some of them transform the color of your water and make it shimmery… they’re super fun and kind of a luxurious, more boujee gift for the bath lover.
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza This is a super fun, easy to learn new card game! We played it at Thanksgiving and had so much fun!
Cover Your Assets – This is kind of our party trick. We bring it with us to get-togethers and everyone loves it! It’s super easy to learn and super fun!
Makeup Eraser – I use one of these every day to wash my face! Somehow they magically get everything off, even my mascara! I love them, and love that I can reuse them over and over by just putting them through the washing machine.
QBIC Luxury Picnics – This one is on my Christmas list (hint hint, Santa!) but this would be such an amazing thing to surprise your significant other with for Christmas. I’m a sucker for a cozy atmosphere and a charcuterie board, and that’s just what QBIC Luxury Picnics does. Everything is done for you, and you just get to enjoy it! Tell me that wouldn’t be an amazing date?!
Axe-throwing – Ok believe me… this freaked me out too, but it was actually super fun! There is always someone that’s trained that’s there to help you throw axes. You get the hang of it quickly and it’s so satisfying seeing your own axe stuck right in the middle of the target (finally!). We have been to both axe throwing locations in town and both are great!
Wine on the Wheel class – My husband, Jon, got me tickets to this for Valentine’s Day and it was so special to go create pottery together! We both had absolutely no idea what we were doing, but there is an instructor to help you as you throw your own clay and create something beautiful. We had such a blast doing this!
Washington Pavilion Series – Have you ever seen an off-broadway musical? We are so lucky to have these right in Sioux Falls! Hairspray and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will both be here in March and either of these shows would be so good!
State Theater – My hubby and I went to a movie here earlier this year and it was such an incredible experience! They show classic movies, the popcorn is amazing, the seats recline, and they even serve Skip Day, which is my favorite local hard seltzer. You can’t ask for much more. This is such a special experience and would make a super fun date. They sell gift cards right on their website, or you could purchase a couple tickets in advance!
Harpermade – custom pet portraits?! These are way too cute.
Boho and Bark – So you and your pet can match!
Jeni’s Ice Cream – the BEST ice cream. Yes, you can ship it! Highly, highly recommend the Gooey Butter Cake… that is my personal fave!
Virginia Dare – the CUTEST curated gift boxes! Everything in here screams cozy and high quality. You can’t go wrong with whichever you choose!
Lula’s Garden – um, hi, who doesn’t want a sweet little houseplant?! These are so cool because they actually come in a box that doubles as their pot, so you don’t have to repot them when you get them. Plus they’re just the cutest little succulents.
Farmgirl Flowers – we all love to receive flowers, but especially in the winter when it’s so dreary outside.. These gorgeous blooms from Farmgirl Flowers will help bring in that gorgeous greenery we’re missing from outside. They last for quite a while and look so beautiful! Plus again, they are a gift that is able to be used up and then it doesn’t create clutter.
So there you have it! I hope at least one of these was helpful to you as you shop for gifts this holiday season. These are all things I truly love and would buy for my own holiday gifts! I would love to receive any of these as well so… if someone’s looking for a gift idea for me… hint hint. 🙂
There are also a couple of affiliate links that cost you nothing extra but do give me a small commission if you purchase through them. Of course, I only posted things I absolutely love and use, but I just needed to let ya know. Happy Holidays, friends!
